About

Chris is executive director of the Office of Navajo and Hopi Indian Relocation, an independent agency established by the federal government to assist with relocating members of the Navajo and Hopi tribes from disputed lands that were partitioned between the two tribes.

A graduate of Northern Arizona University and a resident of Flagstaff for more than 50 years, Chris has a long career of service to the people and institutions of our region. He was chair of the Flagstaff Medical Center and Northern Arizona Healthcare boards from 2001 to 2015 and on the board of directors of The Peaks Senior Living Community.


In previous roles, Chris served as a detective with the Flagstaff Police Department, director of the Northern Arizona Council of Governments, member of the Flagstaff City Council, and mayor of Flagstaff for 12 years. He also was president of the League of Arizona Cities and Towns, president of the Flagstaff Unified School District board, and chair of several nonprofit organizations.


Chris is a recognized civic leader and a tireless advocate for health and well-being.
