Availability

Five $1,000 scholarships

Available to employees of Northern Arizona Healthcare enrolled in an accredited nursing degree program in Northern Arizona.

Eligibility Guidelines

• Must be a Northern Arizona Healthcare employee accepted or enrolled in an accredited degree program with the intent to complete an undergraduate or graduate nursing degree. Proof of employment and acceptance/enrollment is required.
• Scholarship funds are for the 2023-2024 academic year and should only be used to cover tuition, course books, or other academic-related expenses.
• Applicants may only receive one scholarship per year from Health First Foundation. Scholarships are awarded annually and are non-renewable.
  

Essay Topic

Please explain how advancing your education will contribute to one of these areas of need in northern Arizona:

• Preventing, reducing, or mitigating chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, respiratory conditions, dental disease, and cancer
  
• Improving behavioral and mental health
• Improving access to quality health care, including preventative care and screening services

Essay Format

• A maximum of one typed page in length
  
• 1-inch margin on all sides
  
• 11-point font, double spaced lines
  
• Do not title or name your essay
  
• Do not provide your name or identifying information in the essay
  
• Save essay as a PDF to upload as part of your application

Note: An incorrectly formatted essay will disqualify your application.

2. Obtain NAH employment verification letter.
3. Obtain proof of enrollment to upload with your application (valid documents include an unofficial transcript, registrar enrollment verification letter, or official acceptance letter).
4. Complete this Advisor Verification Form and forward it to your academic advisor to sign. Once signed, save as a PDF for upload.
