Availability

One $2,500 scholarship


Available to an undergraduate or graduate student studying in an integrative health area. Such a degree can lead to a career as naturopathic physician, health coach, acupuncturist, or a non-pharmaceutical pain management specialist. We are investing in an individual with a desire to utilize a whole-person approach to reduce disease and prolong life.

Eligibility

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited degree program with the intent to complete an undergraduate or graduate degree. You must submit proof of enrollment.
  • Must be living in one of the five counties of northern Arizona — Apache, Coconino, Mohave, Navajo, or Yavapai.
  • Scholarship funds are for the 2023-2024 academic year and should only be used for tuition, course books, or other academic expenses.
  • Applicants may only receive up to one scholarship per year from Health First Foundation. All scholarships are awarded annually and are non-renewable.

Essay & Application Requirements

Essay Topic

Please explain how advancing your education will contribute to one of these areas of need in northern Arizona:

  • Preventing, reducing, or mitigating chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, respiratory conditions, dental disease, and cancer
  • Improving behavioral and mental health
  • Improving access to quality health care, including preventative care and screening services

Essay Format

  • A maximum of one typed page in length
  • 1-inch margin on all sides
  • 11 point font, double spaced lines
  • Do not title or name your essay
  • Do not provide your name or identifying information in the essay
  • Save essay as a PDF to upload as part of your application


Note: An incorrectly formatted essay will disqualify your application.

Application Steps

  2. Obtain proof of enrollment to upload with your application (valid documents include an unofficial transcript, registrar enrollment verification letter, or official acceptance letter).
  3. Complete and send Advisor Verification Form to your advisor to sign. Once signed, save as a PDF for upload.
