About

Dr. Oliver Harper is a board-certified family physician with a subspecialty in geriatric medicine and teaches at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine Phoenix, where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor.

In his professional career, Dr. Harper started working as an emergency department physician in Phoenix serving area hospitals and was the medical director of one of the busier emergency departments in the Valley. Together with two other family physicians, he co-founded the Arizona medical clinic where he served as President during its growth from the three man practice to a 120 medical provider multi-specialty clinic.


For the past 30 years, Dr. Harper has served as a volunteer physician at the St. Vincent DePaul Medical clinic in Phoenix. He also volunteers at the Mission of Mercy Medical Clinic, where he has cared for patients since 2012. His other volunteer work included a year serving at Mission Hospitals in the Republic of Kenya and doing medical service missions to the Dominican Republic


He is presently a member of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation Board, the Board of the International Society for Cardiovascular Translational Research, a past member of the HALO Trust Board, and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Phoenix Symphony.


He was honored by being elected to the Medical Honor Society Alpha Omega Alpha, was awarded the Healthcare Hero Physician Award, presented by the Phoenix Business Journal, and most recently received the Alumni Merit Award from his alma mater, The Creighton University School of Medicine.


Dr. Harper and his wife, Sharon, have lived in Phoenix since 1970 also own a home in Cornville, Arizona.
